Semena Center was established in the year 2021 in direct response to the increasing threats faced by human rights defenders, the activists, journalists, community leaders, and civil society actors who stand on the front lines of justice, often at great personal cost.
Our organization recognizes that these defenders cannot be left to face persecution alone. Through coordinated emergency protection, legal aid, mental health support, and international advocacy, we build a shield around those who cannot shield themselves.
We work across local and international networks, coordinating with trusted partners and protection systems to deliver timely, life-changing interventions. Our approach is holistic — we address not only the immediate physical danger but also the legal, psychological, and social dimensions of threat.
Semena Center strongly opposes arbitrary arrests, torture, illegal detention, and abuse of power by state or non-state actors. We advocate for freedom of expression, peaceful assembly, and the right of every person to pursue justice without fear.
